The biggest challenge our data center is facing today is modernizing our database and homegrown ERP to closely align with the business strategy.
The next big thing for our business will be to develop and follow a roadmap to modernization with a smooth transition.
My favorite or most impacting book is “The Dark Tower” series from Stephen King.
My favorite IBM product is Rational* Developer for i.
My favorite activity outside of work is going around on our hobby farm with my 1939 Ford 9N, taking the goats and the dogs for a walk.
The favorite part of my day is coming home to greet my lady and all our creatures.
The innovation that’s made the biggest impact on my life is probably the smartphone.
The geekiest thing I’ve ever owned is one of the early laptops. Now it makes a good boat anchor.
My favorite musical artist is Johnny Cash, followed by Mark Knopfler, voice and guitar of Dire Straits.
If I weren’t in IT, I’d be an outdoor guide for hunting, hiking, sailing and scuba diving.
If money were no object, the one thing I’d purchase is a big farm up north with enough space for friends, family and farm animals.
My guilty pleasure is a Jack and Coke with a cigarette.
The best movie I’ve seen recently is “Murder on the Orient Express.”
If I were stuck on a desert island, the one item I’d want is a Kindle loaded with books and equipped with a solar charger.
I ended up in IT when my grandfather got me started with a Commodore and woke up my interest in programming.
My greatest mentor has been again, my grandfather. Without him, I wouldn’t be in IT.
