When to Consider Migration

If you wait until you need to migrate, you've waited too long. This holds true for custom applications, databases and ISV applications. Conventional wisdom might suggest that a company migrate at or near the end of its current system's lifecycle, getting the most out of current resources and delaying the costs and concerns of a migration until necessary.
