AT A GLANCE: New capabilities within the Shadow RTE mainframe integration suite include new security optimization and management features, Web services tester and an enhanced development for rapid service-oriented architecture (SOA). These improvements are in addition to its standard duties of optimizing Web services security, testing and development across many mainframe databases, business logic and screen-based applications.

DETAILS: Shadow RTE provides real-time foundation architecture to support industry-standard requirements for integrating mainframe data, business logic and screens with distributed application-development initiatives. Shadow RTE provides interoperability with its robust, multi-threaded server and enables simple administration to transform legacy data, business logic and process (screen-based) assets into reusable industry standard components.

Shadow RTE addresses slow performance due to bottlenecks with its Security Optimization and Management feature, which manages and optimizes security authentication. The feature works in conjunction with the established client and host security protocols to eliminate redundant authentication requests by caching security credentials and maintains the security infrastructure's integrity by subscribing to updates in the security-manager database.

The Shadow Studio product enables non-experts to quickly publish mainframe resources as Web services, real-time events, SQL tables or stored procedures or Web resources. Migration from previous business-logic repositories has been simplified and all mainframe-based Web services can be stored within the mainframe.
