AT A GLANCE: BCD releases IBM i 6.1-ready WebSmart 7 with additional support and new features designed to boost application-modernization productivity.

DETAILS: WebSmart 7 now supports Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), which lets you create connections to different LDAP data sources, and create, display, modify and delete entries in those sources. Significant advancements have also been made in WebSmart’s support for JDBC* and support for multiple developer environments.

SmartSnippets have been added to help accelerate program development. SmartSnippets are dynamic prompts that guide users through creating drop-down boxes, calling RPG programs in PHP and generating Smurf IDs, etc.

Additional enhancements include new copy template features, new date and time functions, custom variable name options and an option to use a green-screen debugger, among others.
