DRV Technologies, the developer of SpoolFlex report and d ocument management software, has added e-mail authentication to its software, removing an obstacle for companies wanting to send e-mails from their IBM Systems.
SpoolFlex is an IBM Power Systems host-based application that lets organizations reduce printed output from their applications by transforming and distributing reports as PC-compatible files, including Excel and PDF via, e-mail without any programming.
Many organizations encounter requirements by their e-mail service provider to send e-mail with authentication due to increased abuse by spammers, DRV Technologies says. The most common method of sending e-mails from the IBM System (using IBM APIs) does not support authentication. DRV developed a method for sending e-mail directly from its software, bypassing the requirement for any IBM e-mail APIs.
